Makes perfect sense to me. Lots of couples in dysfunctional relationships have successfully worked with psychologists and other mental health professionals.
I'm willing to bet that many of the same techniques used in couples therapy would work beautifully in this context.
Imagine marketing and sales people finally sitting down together and letting it all hang out. Sure, some tears would be shed, but it could ultimately lead everyone to a way more productive place.
Companies routinely blow big bucks on consultants who do little or no good. This is a chance to address an issue that goes right to the heart of why marketing often fails to reach its potential.
