TMZ Thinks Hepatitis is Funny

Now I know what happened to the guys from high school who often said really dumb shit and regularly got their asses kicked: They landed jobs at TMZ.com. From the headline of their latest Pamela Anderson post, it looks like they're as sexually troubled as ever.

While you're on the site, check out the Barack Obama post published a couple of hours earlier. The headline, "Bush to Obama -- No Movin' On Up" seems familiar. Wait -- wasn't that lifted from the theme song of "The Jeffersons," the sitcom about a black family that was "movin' on up to a DEE-LUXE apartment in the sky?" Sounds kinda racist to me.

Perhaps TMZ staffers have too much time on their hands, now that they're no longer able to assist in the destruction of their favorite target, Britney Spears.

I wonder if TMZ advertisers like Godiva, Fairmont, Verizon, and (ironically) Kaiser Permanente are aware of the content running next to their ads. Think they should care?

On Friday, January 31, Britney Spears was rushed by ambulance to UCLA Medical Center. It was just another awful day for Britney -- and another excellent one for TMZ.

Notice on the Alexa graph that page views were up 27% over the prior day. TMZ knows there's gold in them thar hills of Studio City. That's why they've already devoted 12 posts to Britney -- including a live video feed from her house -- on this day of her release from the hospital.
