By now you probably know about John Jantsch's phenomenally successful Duct Tape Marketing blog.
Recently John released a hardcover book, Duct Tape Marketing: The World's Most Practical Small Business Marketing Guide.
Ex-Apple marketing honcho Guy Kawasaki asked John to create a top-ten list from the book. Here's what he came up with:
1. Narrow the market focus.
2. Differentiate.
3. Think about strategy first.
4. Create information that educates.
5. Package the experience.
6. Generate leads from many points.
7. Nurture leads along the logical buying path.
8. Measure everything that matters.
9. Automate for leverage.
10. Commit.
Read the full description of the top-ten list on Guy Kawasaki's blog, How to Change the World.
Guy mentioned something that hit home: "how something simple like the right name can do a great deal for a company..." Until last year our direct marketing agency was known as Passaic Parc. After we changed the name to Mothers of Invention our revenue rose substantially. More on that in a future post.
Thanks for the tips, John and Guy.
